Figured Eucalyptus can be found primarily in the Oceania regions of Australia and Tasmania. Its scientific name is Eucalyptus obliqua. The color is generally a light tan to medium wheat color.

The tree can reach heights up to 300 feet with trunk diameters of 36” to 48” and is also called Messmate stringybark or Brown-top stringybark. 

The beauty of this wood is its pale brown to light brown color with occasional silver or gray. The particular boards we purchased are well figured with many curly variations. Uses of this wood include parquet flooring, paneling, veneers, fine furniture, tool handles and musical instruments.
